Client: City of Quinte West
The City of Quinte West is preparing for growth in the west end of its urban boundary. To enable sustainable growth, the City is planning to build a sanitary sewer line to support current and future residents and businesses.
Prior to the start of construction, the City retained Cambium to complete Geotechnical, Hydrogeological services as part of the Environmental Assessment to provide a detailed understanding of the subsurface conditions that will be encountered during the installation of the sewer main.
Leveraging its local experience and knowledge of the area, Cambium worked with the City and its civil engineer firm to identify aspects of the originally proposed scope of work that could be refined to reduce costs and timing of the project. While drilling was met with several hurdles such as intensely fractured, flaggy bedrock, and the identification of turtle habitats, the project was completed successfully.
