PROJECTS
We see possibility in every challenge — above ground or below. From skyline-defining towers to complex infrastructure systems, our experts design solutions that build lasting value for clients and a resilient future for their communities.
We work on thousands of projects every year. Find some highlights below.
Sustainable Stream Restoration for Waterfront Redevelopment
A homeowner in the Township of Tiny, Ontario, applied for permission to tear down and rebuild their residence on a waterfront property next to a sensitive stream supporting coldwater species. Because the existing structure was located in close proximity to the stream channel —within five metres of its top bank—the Township required a Stream Restoration Plan (SRP), prepared by Cambium, to provide for a net gain in ecological function within the stream, following construction.
Storm Sewer Outfall Rehabilitation with Species at Risk Protection
Cambium conducted fish salvage and mussel relocation for sewer outfall replacements in Eastern Ontario. Cambium crews isolated the area with turbidity curtains, removed mussels using appropriate equipment, and relocated them downstream. Scuba divers were present to assist in deeper areas.
Terrestrial Ecology Studies for Georgina Island Fixed Link Project
Cambium completed various terrestrial ecology studies required as supporting information for the proposed Georgina Island Fixed Link project, located in Georgina Island First Nation and the Township of Georgina, Regional Municipality of York. The project involved the construction of a permanent fixed link between Georgina Island and the mainland. The project will serve to create a safe and permanent direct physical link to the Georgina Island First Nation (GIFN) community and will replace the existing ferry/ice road system.
